What is the best way to convince young people to vote in the European elections in May? Expound on the manifold responsibilities of the European Parliament? Rhapsodise on the many good things MEPs achieved over the past legislature? Or a bit of song and dance?
The people behind the Happy Voting video found a clever and fun way to raise awareness among young people. Observing the global craze of making videos around the Pharrell William’s Happy Song, they made their own version using sixty people, including actors and politicians from different political groups, shot at about 50 different locations around Brussels.
Without preaching or excessive information, the video with its array of different characters and funky dancing is simply a pleasure to watch. No wonder that the production is supported by the League of Young Voters and endorsed by hundreds of organisations. The video will also be shown during the European Youth Event in Strasbourg on 9-11 May.
