I read a study that said that readers are more likely to stop reading when they see a quote then in other parts of a text. For me this was also true, but a bit differently. I liked the part with the socks so much that I decided to quote it on Facebook. instead of using the (new, new for this blog) share function) I went to Facebook, posted, and never came back. Until now. Distractions all allround ...

Yes, it is fun, by gum. Today, coincidentally, I met someone from New Zealand (i.e. actually living in NZ and just on a trip), who told me about a colleague of hers who spent the night following #dws on twitter. We were THAT interesting? Cool!

Steve

I think it was me who said that we can be in more than one place at a time. I'll stand by it, even though I can see that it might look like a bit of digital zealotry.

The place you're in is defined by what you can do, the people you're with and your relationship with the world. Once you have direct, real time communication with a person or group they're present for you. You are, in a sense, in the same place.

Using the word 'really' to mean 'geographically' might not be appropriate any more, so you can really be in more than one place at a time. Fun, isn't it.
